            Kakkadampoyil is a place where you can enjoy the beauty of the hills and enjoy the weekend with a hug of the nature.It is a hill station, situated in Chaliyar Panchayath in Nilambur in Malappuram district and in Koodaranji Panchayath in Calicut district.It known as the Mini-Gavi because of the green hills and the fountain which flows from the hill range attract the tourists. The cold climate and the fog at the top of the hill make it a undescribed view of nature.


          It is pleasant to see the bamboos surrounding the whole roads. It is located at an average elevation of 2200 m above sea level. Kozhippara Falls and Pazhassi Cave are the tourist destinations of Kakkadampoyil.This place is the habitat of Elephants, tigers, rare species of birds and insects. Nature studies camps are actively involved in various voluntary organizations in Kakkadampoyil to find the mysteries of the forest.
     
   
        People living here depend on agriculture. Banana, rubber, cardamom, cinnamon, cocoa, pepper and coconut are the agricultural crops in Kakkadampoyil. In a tourism map, Kakkadampoyil is recently take place in the last year. It was an isolated area from town.

KOZHIPPARA FALLS


    This waterfall is located in Kuruvan River at 3 km far from Kakkadampoyil. The waterfall is under the Kerala forest department and the ticket charge is about Rupees 20.You can get forest guids except Monday.The River contains good cold water there is the best facility for swimming.


PAZHASSI CAVE TREKKING


     The Pazhassi Cave is located in Nayadampoyil that is 4 km away from Kakkadampoyil.The Pazhassi emperor was used it as a resting place when walking from Wayanad to Nilambur. It is also said that Pazhassi was used it to hide from Britishers. The tribal people in this region celebrate the festival of the memories of Pazhassi emperor once a year.

AMUSEMENT PARK


        As the part of promoting the tourism,an amusement park opened here.It has many rides that should like to travellers.This park built in a eco-friendly method that does not affect the nature.

GET THERE:-      

   Kakkadampoyil is 24 km from Nilambur and 50 km from Calicut. The way to reach there from nilambur is via Akambadam.It can also be reached via Thiruvambadi from Calicut. KSRTC is running a bus service through these sections. It is from morning to evening.K. S.R.T.C Buses are available only to there. Buses from Calicut and Thiruvambadi. There is a service from Nilambur

Nilambur is the nearest railway station to Kakkadampoyil. It is located at a distance of about 24 km from Nilambur.
