PENCH NATIONAL PARK,MADHYA PRADESH,INDIA


           Pench national park situated in the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh.The name derives from the pench river that flows through the park.It was declared as a sanctuary in 1977 and upgraded as a national park in 1983.In 1992,it was established as a tiger reserve.

          The park situated in the area of 758 square kilometers,It includes 465 square kilometers buffer area and 292 square kilometers core area.over 1200 species of plants have been recorded from the area including several rare and endangered plants as well as plants of ethno-botanical importance.
        Pench tiger reserve has highest density of herbivores in India (90.3 animals per 1 square kilometer).The Bengal tiger is the main cat species of the park.As per latest Tiger census,There are approximately 40 tigers in the park.39 species of mammals,13 species of reptiles,3 species of amphibians live in the park.
