Muzhappilangad beach is
the longest drive-in beach in India and featured among the top 6 best beaches
for driving in the world in BBC article for autos.This wonderful one is
situated in the Kannur district of Kerala state in India.
This is the only Asian beach
featured in the list of Drive-in beach.And considering as the longest drive-in
beach in Asia.The beach festival celebrated in month of april and it is one of
the important tourist attraction in the Kerala.This beach is about 5 kilometers
long and curves in a wide area providing a good view of kannur on the north.
You can drive your vehicle
in the shore, definitely it will be a new experience to you.youths are try to
drift their cars and bikes here.Local laws allow beachgoers to drive for a
full 4 kilometers directly on the sands of the beach.
The beach is bordered by
black rocks,which also protect it from the stronger currents of the ocean.These
rocks provide habitat for Blue mussel and this is also a paradise for bird
watchers.Approximately 200 meters south of the beach,there is a private island
called Dharmadam Island.You can walk there during low tide.
