PAITHALMALA,KERALA,INDIA



               Paithalmala is a hillstation in the Kannur district of Kerala in India.This hill situated at the altitude of 1371 meter above sea level,and considering as the highest peak in Kannur district.


               It is an enchanting hill station located 65 kilometers away from Kannur town near Kerala-Karnataka border.It lies in the western ghats and near Kodagu forest.This place enriched with flora and fauna and become a favourite place for the nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts.


                  There is an observatory tower made by the department of tourism at the top of the hill.an reach here by approximately 45 minutes walk from the Paithal valley.Trekking starts through lush green dense forest followed by the plain grass land on the hilltop.The best time to visit here is june to november.At this time visitors can enjoy the cold climate and the view of lush green valley.

TIPS

  • Best time to visit : June – November
  • After the monsoon the grass grow up to seven feet.Finding the regular way is a difficult task.Keep it in mind.
  • In the month of december,forest department set fire to the grass.Therefore you had better avoid visit at that time
  • Keep food and water along with you.
